Teen, Young Adult, and Parent Services

Counseling services are tailored to your needs, whatever phase of the college transition, or challenges that you are experiencing.

For teens and young adults, the service identifies adjustment issues specifically related to college success such as:

  • what type of school would be the right fit
  • coping styles
  • separation from family and friends
  • feelings about college decision
  • time management
  • roommate adjustments
  • concerns about diversity
  • concerns about dating, sex, drugs, gambling and alcohol
  • academic pressure
  • assertiveness
  • susceptibility to anxiety and depression
  • financial literacy

For parents, teens, and young adults, services focus on encouraging the development of key life skills.  These include:

  • academic and social assertiveness
  • self-awareness
  • developing an on-campus support network
  • strategies to decrease stress, anxiety, and depression
  • time management
  • financial literacy

For parents, the service includes consultation on:

  • concerns relevant to college readiness
  • parenting college-aged "children"
  • letting go and supporting from afar
  • empty-nesting
  • parenting to increase teen's competence

Services in the Workplace

COLLEGE with CONFIDENCE provides companies with a unique service.  Difficulties at college are understandably very stressful for parents, impacting work productivity, mental and physical health, and attendance at work.  COLLEGE with CONFIDENCE is pro-active in preparing parents and teens, as well as counseling parents when students have had challenges on campus. The service has flexibility based on the needs of the company and client.
